Sysco Hampton Roads, Inc. has filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia against former employee Cole Winchester and his new employer, Performance Foodservice Company (PFG). The complaint alleges that PFG systematically targeted Sysco’s employees and customers, using confidential information stolen by Winchester to solicit Sysco’s clients unlawfully. The lawsuit accuses Winchester of misappropriating trade secrets by emailing himself sensitive data before leaving Sysco and continuing to access confidential systems after his departure. Sysco claims this conduct resulted in significant business losses, including over $1.2 million from two major clients switching to PFG. The company seeks injunctive relief, damages, and punitive damages for the alleged violations.
