In a lawsuit filed in the United States Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Shiyu Jin, a resident of China, accuses Julien Merzoug and associated entities of orchestrating an elaborate scam that defrauded him of over $1.1 million. The complaint alleges that Merzoug used deceptive practices akin to “pig butchering” schemes to gain Jin’s trust and coax investments into illusory projects. The lawsuit names SEG Magnetics, Inc., Lemon Video, LLC, and others as co-defendants, accusing them of participating in the scheme. Jin seeks at least $5 million in damages for violations under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), civil conspiracy under Virginia law, conversion, breach of contract, and unjust enrichment.
