Pawsitive Relief LLC and its owners, Darnita and Deidra Brown, have filed a lawsuit against Christopher Harrison and his affiliated companies, alleging investor fraud related to a real estate project. The complaint was lodged in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia on December 30, 2025. The defendants include Christopher Harrison, The C.A. Harrison Companies, LLC, and CAH Model Tobacco, LLC.
The plaintiffs claim that they were misled into investing $150,000 in what was supposed to be a promising real estate development known as the Model Tobacco Project. This project involved converting an old tobacco factory in Richmond into residential apartments. They allege that Harrison engaged in fraudulent activities to secure their investment under false pretenses. According to the complaint, the Browns were persuaded by their accountant to invest in Harrison’s company without knowing about his history of defrauding other investors or his criminal prosecution related to this project.
The lawsuit details how Pawsitive Relief LLC wired $100,000 to CAH Model Tobacco, LLC in August 2022 with promises of receiving membership interests and financial returns from the project. However, they claim they never received any updates or financial statements regarding their investment. Instead, they later discovered that Harrison had used their funds for personal expenses and legal defenses against previous lawsuits accusing him of similar fraudulent conduct.
In addition to seeking compensatory damages of at least $150,000 plus consequential damages for breach of contract and fraud claims, the plaintiffs are also pursuing punitive damages and recessionary relief under federal securities laws. They argue that it would be unjust for the defendants to retain any benefits derived from their investments without proper compensation.
The case is being handled by attorney Lucrecia P. Johnson from LPJ Legal PLLC on behalf of the plaintiffs. It has been assigned Case No. 3:25-cv-01068.
