In a dramatic legal battle over trust management, a Virginia resident has filed a lawsuit accusing her family members of mismanaging a family trust. On November 10, 2025, Priscilla A. Doucette lodged a complaint in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia against Sean Doucette and Kinley Doucette, alleging breach of trust and other violations.

The case revolves around the Living Trust created by Priscilla Antigone Doucette (referred to as Antigone) and Christopher Doucette on January 3, 2002. Following Christopher’s death on August 27, 2022, Antigone became the trustee. However, due to health issues requiring full-time care, she resigned from her position on August 22, 2024. Subsequently, Sean Doucette assumed the role of trustee. According to the complaint, Antigone was supposed to be the primary beneficiary during her lifetime, entitled to receive all income from the Family Trust for her health and support needs.

Priscilla A. Doucette accuses Sean Doucette of failing to uphold his responsibilities as trustee by ceasing payments meant for Antigone’s health and support without valid justification. Furthermore, she claims that Sean distributed $250,000 to himself and $150,000 to Kinley Doucette—actions that allegedly violate the terms of the trust which prohibit such distributions until after Antigone’s death.

The plaintiff is seeking multiple forms of relief from the court. She demands a proper accounting of the trust assets and insists that any funds taken contrary to the trust’s terms be returned with interest. Additionally, she requests that Sean be removed as trustee due to his alleged ultra vires actions and lack of accountability. If not removed, Priscilla seeks an order requiring him or any successor trustee to post a surety bond under Virginia law.

Representing Priscilla A. Doucette is attorney John F. Rodgers from Alexandria, Virginia. The case has been assigned Civil Action No. 25-CV-2005 in front of judges at the Eastern District Court of Virginia.
