Operation “No Limits” leads to 96 arrests targeting violent crime in Danville

Local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies have completed Operation Washout – “No Limits,” a coordinated effort aimed at reducing violent crime in Danville, Virginia. The operation was announced by Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Virginia Robert Tracci, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, and representatives from several law enforcement agencies including the Danville Police Department, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Department of Homeland Security-Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police, Danville Department of Probation and Parole, and the United States Marshals Service.

During the weeklong operation, authorities apprehended 96 individuals with outstanding felony arrest warrants. An additional 23 offenders were identified as already incarcerated in other jurisdictions but had active arrest warrants. Law enforcement officials also recovered one missing child during the course of their investigations.

The collaborative operation led to multiple ongoing investigations into violent crime and drug trafficking networks. Officers seized significant amounts of narcotics, firearms, and cash as part of their efforts.

Those arrested face charges related to a range of offenses including homicide, drug violations, failure to appear in court, identity theft, probation violation, cruelty toward a child, malicious wounding, burglary, felon in possession of a firearm, assault, indecent liberties with a child, larceny, weapons offenses, obstruction of justice, assault on a law enforcement officer, unlawful discharge of a firearm, rape, armed robbery, abduction by force and violations related to federal supervised release.

Officials emphasized that the success of Operation “No Limits” was due to cooperation among local police departments and federal agencies working together to address public safety concerns in Danville.
