Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares marked the 31st anniversary of the TRIAD program in Williamsburg, recognizing its ongoing work to strengthen relationships between law enforcement, seniors, and the broader community. The TRIAD initiative aims to enhance safety and prevent fraud among Virginia’s senior citizens.
The annual TRIAD Conference gathered chapters from across Virginia, providing attendees with updated information on fraud prevention and senior safety. The event also honored more than thirty years of service dedicated to protecting seniors.
During the celebration, Attorney General Miyares presented several awards acknowledging outstanding contributions by local TRIAD chapters and individuals. The recipients included:

TRIAD Event of the Year: Roanoke City TRIAD’s Senior Prom
Rising Star TRIAD Chapter: Smyth County TRIAD
Law Enforcement Partner of the Year: Lee County Sheriff’s Office
Distinguished TRIAD Leader of the Year: Minnie Sippio (Peninsula SALT Council & York-Poquoson TRIAD)
Legislative Advocate Award: Delegate Carrie Coyner
Attorney General’s Choice Award: Top of Virginia TRIAD
The Jim Gilmore Award for TRIAD Excellence: Chickahominy Area TRIAD
Attorney General Miyares announced a $70,000 distribution in grants to support local chapters’ efforts to protect seniors. This represents the largest financial investment in the program by the Office of the Attorney General.
