The Alexandria Courthouse will close at 2 p.m. on March 16 because of the threat of severe weather, according to a statement released on Mar. 17.

The early closure is intended to ensure the safety of courthouse staff and visitors as hazardous weather conditions are expected in the area.

Officials said that all scheduled court proceedings and courthouse operations will be suspended for the remainder of the day. Those with business at the courthouse are advised to adjust their plans accordingly.

No additional information was provided regarding when normal operations would resume or how rescheduled court dates would be handled.

The decision reflects ongoing efforts by local authorities to prioritize public safety during periods of inclement weather.
